Christmas in Connecticut

Christmastime is definitely different in CT!  West Hartford is 50% Jewish so you can probably guess that there are not a ton of Christmas lights around which is too bad.  New England decorates for Christmas by putting candle sticks in all of the windows and calling it a day!  It is a very classic look but it just doesn't do it for us!

Here are some cookie plates we put together for the people we visit/home teach.

Frosting faces.
Constitution Plaza in downtown Hartford.

This is how Connecticut is basically...
The presents under the baby tree.
The stockings were hung from the spiral staircase with care...
We decided not to haul all of our presents to each other home so we opened them on Monday night.  I got a charm from Tiffany's and a foot spa!  Just what I wanted :)

Mike got an art set, bocce ball, a candle warmer and some other fun things :)

On my way from CT to CA I got stuck in Las Vegas because of snow!  Snow in Las Vegas? Yea, that's what I thought too!   I was lucky enough to get picked up from the airport by my great friends from Ithaca, Todd and Stephanie Creer (Joelle Vargas' brother and sister-in-law for CT readers)!  It was so great to see them!  This is their "baby" Chandler.  He is a DOLL and much bigger than the last time I saw him.
My first snow of the year....and it was in Vegas.

If you can see, thats the strip far in the distance.  It looked cool because the sun was only shining above the strip but still cloudy everywhere else.
A view from the airport.

Anyways I arrived home to Orange County today and Mike gets here (hopefully) tomorrow!
