4th of July in Pullman

As most of you know...Mike and I LOVE the 4th of July. We have never spent one in Pullman before but this year was great!!!

Here is a pic of us 3 years ago when we were dating in Provo (this was the Sunday right before the 4th).

Since our Ward doesn't do a pancake breakfast we decided to have our own!

Merry and Sage Holmes. This is my friend that taught me how to sew! Check out her cute watermelon quilt that she finished the night before!
The Kilpatricks! Steph is very anxious for her little boy to come out!
I made us aprons so that we could look extra festive while cooking pancakes and eggs.
Todd and Mike.
I saw this cake on the cover of Women's Day magazine when I was in like 5th grade and I have wanted to make it since!
I forgot to rotate this one ;)
Us at Sunnyside park.
In the afternoon we rode our bikes downtown and then went to the Christensens for a BBQ.
Mike and I were big spenders on fireworks this year...we spent $5.80. Everyone here is used to having their own fireworks but we never really had them since they are illegal where we live.
This is right before a spark went down my shirt...no worries I wasn't harmed.
We tried to get a picture of everyone with the sparklers but the Kilpatricks got cut out!!!

Lucy Mower loved the fireworks!
This is the grand finale of our fireworks show in front of the Christensens.

Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate our favorite holiday. We had a blast!

Olympic Swim Trials

Okay so I CANNOT wait until the olympics! I have been catching up on the swim trials online since we don't get the USA channel. Although swimming may not excite most of you like it does me you have got to listen to the commentary on this video. For the pre-video update Natalie Coughlin's 100M backstroke record was broken in the heat directly before this. She has always been one of my favorite swimmers so ya check this out!

Summertime in P-town

We haven't made many blogs lately but we have done a ton of fun things this summer! Enjoy our pics :)

Most of the time I am the one blogging but this time it was Mike!

A few Sundays ago we took a fun Sunday drive to Steptoe Butte. We had gone there once before with my parents, but the rolling palouse wheat fields were golden--a few weeks ago they were bright green! It is a beautiful view from the top and these pictures don't do it justice.

We drove the backroads to get to Steptoe Butte. The drive is very pretty and we passed through a couple small towns. It is crazy how green the wheat fields get, some of them go right up the steep hills just like this one.

We thought this picture looked cool!
Jen liked this mailbox we saw on our drive to the Butte.
Here is a picture of Jen and I at the top of Steptoe.
Jen, striking a pose.
Here is a picture when we are approaching Steptoe. It doesn't look that tall, but when you get there you realize how high up you are, and you can see very far.
More pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Three weeks ago Jen and I rode our bikes from Pullman to Moscow (and back) to go to the Farmers Market. We did the ride once last year. It gets pretty tiring riding back because you are going against the wind. The trip is a little over eight miles one way. It is a very beautiful ride. We were a little sore the next day though.

Here is Jen hiding in the flowers. She is so beautiful it looks like she belongs in a boquet of flowers!

I made a quick trip to Utah on June 18 to see one of my best friend's Aaron Johnson get married. Dustin and Dan (and their families) came up to see him as well. It was great to see them all again.
Here is a picture of Aaron and his wife, Whitney.

Jen and I made it to the second annual Moscow Idaho Student Stake Golf Tournament.
Jen and Angela Harris.

Jen won the longest drive award on the 7th hole...well Lee Rushton really won but he also won closest to the pin and his team won the whole tournament so he gave it to her. She won a free round of golf at the Colfax course.
After the tournament we hit up the Palouse tavern with Todd Gunderson, Josh Harper, and the Riz (Kaitlin Rizzo).
In all of our years in Pullman and with most of our closest friends being vet students we had never been to the vet school before!!!! Josh Harper and Anne Gardner gave us a tour. Jen dreams of owning an al paca someday. This little guy was awesome.

After that we went to check out Todd Gunderson's favorite horse Seamus. He and Josh are in the draft horse club at WSU.
Camille, Jen, and Seamus.

Our little carriage ride!

My Second Cali Trip

I went back home for a few days for my grandma's memorial. It was so much fun to be with the whole fam but we were sad that Michael couldn't be there!

The best surprise ever! We surprised my grandpa with a visit from his good friend Steve Ossad. They met awhile ago through an army website and have been best friends ever since. They wrote a book together a few years ago and email quite freguently. Mr. Ossad lives in New York so they haven't seen each other in a long time! It was great to have him there because we have always felt like he was an additional family member. Gramps was so shocked!
Me and Bri.

The birthday girls! Lisa turned 26 and Margo turned 8.
Cousins! Yep...I only have 3 of them!
We went to Dana Point to have a memorial for my grandma. This is my entire fam on my mom's side (minus Michael)!

Gramps and all the grandkids.
Me and Ossad.
The memorial for my grandma was a great day for all of us. We know that she would have loved to see us all together.
