Valentine's Day in NYC

So since it was my turn to plan Valentines Day I decided that I would surprise Mike with a trip to NYC! I was nervous about making all of the plans (and I'm terrible at surprises) so I told Mike the day before that we were going. He didn't know where we were eating or staying though. I messaged Mike's cousin Brigham (who has lived in the city for 5 years) on facebook to get some ideas on where to eat and he gave me some great advice! We decided to eat at Dumont, a resturant in Brooklyn and it was amazingly good!

I heart little diet coke bottles.
This is Mike infront of the resturant. Don't mind the little flash in the corner.
The Werrett's asked us to take some pictures of this little man named Flat Stanley for Jake's niece's class. We ended up taking more pictures of him than ourselves haha. Here he is taking a fall.
Flat Stanley in Times Square.
Arriving at the Park Central Hotel at 1am.
We stopped in this store to look at things called Pylones. They are funny little French gadgets. I was extra impressed with the mini hamburger vacuum.
Brigham joined us for breakfast at our hotel and then we went on a "local's" tour of NYC. It was a lot of fun to see some neat stuff that we normally wouldn't know about. Since Brigham's legs are double the size of mine and he was walking fast, you can imagine how tired I was after our adventure! This is the narrowest building in the city.
Us with Brigham. Thanks again for the great tour!!
Right before we split up, Brigham pointed us in the direction of the Meat Packing District, a favorite hang out of a certain girl on a certain tv show that I like to watch. She works for Diane von Furstenberg so this is me taking a picture with it hehe. I didn't get to see her but oh well maybe next time (Janae should appreciate this).
Flat Stanley with a guard man at FAO Schwartz.
The Chrysler building.
Us at the NYC Public Library. It was super rad inside and we could have spent a lot more time there but I was getting cranky so we went home.
Me with a lady from the Jetson's who happens to work at the library.
The inside of the library.
This is one of the Lions who guard the libray. For some reason I kinda love these lions. It turns out they have names, Patience and Fortitude. Not sure which one this is though.
We had a such a fun time! Its sweet living so close to so many awesome places and we fully intend to take advantage of it while we're living out here!

You are right I do appreciate that picture. It looks like you had a lot of fun, too bad our NYC time didn't overlap.
