My 24th B-day

So now that my 24th was almost 2 months ago, I decided to blog about it. We drove home from Palm Springs that day and went to Bean's baseball game.
They had a parade for opening/closing ceremonies (opening got rained out). He looks so happy!
Mike and I had a photo shoot.
This is his "So this is what it feels like to be 30" look. I kinda like it.
After the game. Bean was player of the game and got a new baseball!
It was the day before Mother's day so we combined forces of our mom's gardens and made this bouquet for Grandma Goldthorpe.
And of course the lunch of my choice was In-N-Out. This could have something to do with the fact that I had already eaten Del Taco a few times.
This is probably not exciting to anyone else but we drove our old high school to check out the pool renovation. I think its going to be pretty amazing! If only my old stomping grounds would have been that nice when I was there. They've put in more room for bleachers with some shade and they're making it 50 meters. So cool.
Then we went to Koki's with a few of my favorite people for my birthday dinner.

Me and Gramps.
Mom and Bean.
Mike and Jimmy.
Notice the Laker game in the background. They gave us this special table so I could watch it.
I hadn't seen the salt and pepper trick with the onion volcano before. I was impressed.
So the cook decides to have everyone try to catch a piece of shrimp and he says "6 pieces for you birthday girl!" This is attempt number 4. Success.
And number 5.
And number 6! I have NEVER in my life caught food in my mouth and here on my 24th birthday I caught 3. Quite the feat!
Us and the Lucky Cat.
It was a great birthday. Jimmy ditched his friends from his trip to Taiwan to hang out with us and we are very glad he did. We love Jimmy!

Thanks to everyone who made my day great.
I don't have too many things to say about being 24. For one thing I don't like even numbers so maybe that's why. I do have to say I feel much more grown up than 23. 23 still sounds like "Oh you just graduated from college" and 24 definitely sounds like "You have a kid? I could see that." So maybe its the fact that I'll be a mom in 2 months that I feel so grown up. I just can't believe that next year I'll be 25! I remember when Mike was 25 haha. He always said that his rapper name would be "25 cent" because he was a quarter of a century old...or something like that. So here's to being 24. I think its going to be a great year.
