On Thanksgiving we woke up in the morning and went to play some football...
On Friday morning we took the train to NEW YORK CITY!
Grand Central Station.
When Mike walked out of the terminal he got so stoked when he saw this. We were pretending that the Y was for BYU. It was really for the Yale Club of NYC.
In the lobby of the Empire State Building. The line was 90 minutes long so we passed.
On the top of the Big Taxi Tour Bus. It was so awesome to be up close to all of the buildings.
There were gagillions of people in the city. It was after all Black Friday and the Day after the Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Rockefeller Plaza. Its way smaller than it looks on tv.

Making sure Santa gets my list.
Grrrr.
Yee Haw.
Macy's was insane but the decorations were cool.
One of the main reasons that we went to the City was for the the Cougar bball game in New Jersey. It was at the Prudential Center where the New Jersey Devils play. This is me remembering when the Ducks lost the Stanley Cup finals to them in 2003.

There were about 100 Cougar fans in the crowd! We sat with Taylor Rochestie's family. It was so awesome to see some Cougar pride all the way in the East. I hope they play in another tournament out here next year!
Baynes getting a talking to after he fouled out.
They won the game but ended up losing to #4 Pitt the next night. I have two words for the upcoming season: CLAY THOMPSON.
Mike posing on some steps in Time Square...all the Asian girls loved him.
The biggest Hershey bar ever!
Mmmm chocolate.
Radio City Music Hall.
An awesome display outside of Rockefeller Plaza.
Apple Store in SoHo :)
Some graffitti that Mike liked.

Ground Zero. Looking up where the towers used to be.
My FAVORITE part of the trip was Battery Park. The Statue of Liberty is on my left and Ellis Island is on my right. I loved loved loved seeing Ellis Island. This is where my grandma Marsh's parents came through from Italy in the early 1900's. I can just imagine the way they felt finally reaching America. I can't wait to take a boat out there someday.

As we were walking out of the Plaza Hotel, I noticed some guy staring Mike down. Good thing it was just his friend Mark from BYU. It was so random and crazy to see him out of the millions of people in the city that day. Mark kept saying "Its a Thanksgiving Miracle!" It was pretty funny.
Central Park.
An awesome chandelier at the Tavern on the Green resturant.
The Temple in the middle of Lincoln Center.
It was an awesome trip and we want to go back soon :)

Wow! Great post!! I was just talking to Russ tonight about heading to NYC. It's a 10 hour drive though so...maybe when either the kids are older or Russ's mom is willing to stay with them longer! lol

I totally know your friend Mark from BYU. I grew up with him. We were best friends in junior high. He used to call me tiny. It truly is a Thanksgiving Miracle!!
Looks like you guys are enjoying. Take care.
Josh
I knew I was feeling inspired to go to New York. Truly miraculous. And nice to meet you, jen!
and josh (tiny), if you ever read this, where are you, how are you doing, and what are you up to?
It's like I always say, "one chance meeting of friends begets more chance meetings."
Looks like you had a great time, good job packing all of that into such a short time. I hope you don't mind that I blog stalked you off of facebook.
