Today we were driving around listening to a radio station and heard that they were giving away free food across the street from Home Depot. Being that we are still poor students at heart, we were down for a free hamburger. Little did we know that one of their free giveaways were tickets to the Travelers Championship in Cromwell. We were so stoked! We drove down and hung out for a few hours. We watched Chad Campbell, Vijay Singh, and recent US Open winner Lucas Glover play the 9th hole. It was so awesome to see them up close! Vijay, almost looked like he was going to give Mike his ball but ended up giving it to the 5 year old girl next to us haha. Later we headed over to the 18th, 17th, and 16th holes with our ultimate goal to see our boy Kenny Perry (who happens to be sponsored by The Hartford). We hung out at the 17th hole for a bit, watching those guys tee off, as well as being able to see the par 3 16th hole from where we sitting. We were super close to Ben Curtis and Anthony Kim when they tee'd off at 17...talk about power! I've never seen a ball hit so hard before in my life. It was so awesome! Just as Kenny was about to putt the 16th hole, we heard a blow horn in the distance, followed by another one, followed by one let off on the 17th hole. Apparently there was a storm coming (we heard thunder soon after) so they stopped the tournament! We were SO CLOSE to seeing Kenny. I was really hoping the whole stopping of play thing was a joke, but sadly it was not. Kenny and his group weren't even able to finish their hole. Kenny did walk very close to us as he was heading for the tent to wait for the storm to pass. Of course we yelled our praise at him. "GO KENNY. YOU RULE!" :) As for not having any pictures, no cameras or cell phones were allowed.Saturday, June 27, 2009

Fun! It almost sounds like Mike wrote the post with the detailed name- I didn't know you were so up to date with golf players jen. Isn't it fun when an unexpected activity comes about?
Haha that sounds like fun. I would hardly know who any of those people were except the US Open was going on last year when I was in the hospital the week after Sam was born. We pretty much watched it all day every day...what else is there to do when you're healing from a c-section, right? Anyway, that's cool that you guys got to go.
