A few weeks ago, a friend commented on our blog about how she loved seeing our “arms full of babies.” I have been thinking about that phrase so much lately. I think about it when Rose grabs book after book for me to read to her. I think about it in the middle of the night when I hold Caroline and rock her back to sleep in the dark. I think about it during the day as I’m holding Caroline and Rose comes to snuggle us on the couch. I think about some of our friends who are yearning to have their arms full of babies and are having difficulty on that journey. My heart aches for them and I am overcome with emotion thinking of when we experienced those same feelings. We are so blessed to have our two little girls and I would do the whole process over again to bring them into our family.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of the women in my life. Thank you for your friendship, love, and example. Thank you Rose and Caroline for making each day bright and beautiful. Life with my arms full of babies is one I wouldn’t trade for anything.
Yesterday Rose and I went on our first "mother daughter date." There was a super fun activity at church where we ate waffles together and I painted Rose's toe nails. It was so nice to be able to spend time with her alone! I've missed those days ;)
When we got home we went on a little family hike. Note to self: never listen to Mike when he says "We're almost there."
After the hike, we took Rose to the park and I took Caroline out of the Ergo and set her in the jogger. She's getting so big! Direct quote from my mother in law tonight "You've got some good milk Jen." Ha ha!
This morning Mike cooked me delicious chocolate chip scones! (Real scones, not "mormon" scones.)
Tonight we ate my choice of hamburgers and french fries in the back yard and then took a little family walk around the neighborhood. Can you tell from the pictures that the weather is nice? AMAZING.
Rose is VERY into her babies these days. It is adorable.
Best quote of Sacrament meeting to came from a youth speaker. "Happy Mother's Day, Mom. We don't always like what you cook but we know that you're trying." A message I hope my kids understand someday :)
