My California Vacation Part I

My first week of vacation was an eventful one! The first night, the Hunts and the Christensens stayed at my house en route to their Mexico cruise. It was funny to hang out with them in California instead of the Palouse! It was also mother's day. My mom is really into her garden right now so I (with the help of Camille Rupp) made her an apron for gardening. It has watermelon's on it! She was modeling her matching pink gloves and shoes!

I was also able to spend a few days in Palm Springs with Mike's fam! It was a quick trip but very fun. I didn't get many pics but I think this one sums it up nicely :)

On Thursday May 15th my grandma Phyllis Rose Catanese Marsh died from natural causes. We had all sensed it coming but still feel it came a little sooner than we expected. I was fortunate to have grown up 2 miles from my grandparents and have very fond memories of my grandma. Both of her parents were from Italy but she spent her childhood in Chicago, IL. One of the most unique stories about her life is that her 21st birthday was on Decemeber 7th, 1941, the day of Pearl Harbor. It was the last day that she was in the same place as all of her brothers and sisters before they passed away. One of my favorite memories of my grandma is going to her house and eating vanilla ice cream with teddy grams. Below is a pic of me doing that when I was two! She was the best grandma in the world and will be missed by all that knew her. I know that we will all be reunited with her again someday! Love you grams!

I also had a new nephew born last week on Friday May 16th. Collin Parker Williams. He sure is a cutie! Congrats Nichole and Dave!

The happy mama.

Hey Jen!
I'm sorry for the loss of your Grandma, but it's great that you have so many wonderful memories of her that you can now cherish.
It looks like you are having a lot of fun, and the watermelon apron is adorable! Good Job!
P.S. Tell that girl that just had her baby that she looks awesome! She serioulsy doesn't even look like she just had a baby!!
Keep smilin'!
