Our Connecticut Trip!

On June 30th we took a trip to visit our friends in CT. It was SO GREAT to spend time with everyone. We've really missed them. Mike's trip was a quick 5 days but I got to hang out for 2 weeks. We did so much while Mike was here that I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything for a whole week after that.

Last year we went to the Simsbury fireworks with the Shamo's and it was awesome so we did it again this year. We got to hear a lot more of the music this year because we sat a little bit closer.
The whole gang...the only picture of us all the whole trip!

Rose was definitely scared of the fireworks. I scored some good cuddles out of it though!
Mike and I had never been to Lyman Orchards before! Sad story. It is amazing. We wish we would have taken advantage of it before we moved!
Breakfast on the deck. Eggs, sausage, and cinnamon roll french toast. I think this meal would make our cousin Brigham proud.

Haha Rose and I tried to take a picture in one those picture things (you know what I'm talking about right?) and this was the pose that we got of Rose. I think its awesome.
Picking raspberries.
A beautiful Connecticut day.
Janae, Mike, and I attempted to make a cake ball flag! I think it came out pretty cool.
Mike actually did most of the work.
This is us with our old Bishop and his wife. It was great to see them.
On the 4th of July we got together at a friends house for some pancakes. This isn't the best picture but I'm trying to show off the cute skirt that I made for Rose!
I think Rose might like the 4th as much as Mike and I do.

The Shamo's made homemade ice cream the hardcore way.
Kristin came in from RI for the weekend which was awesome! It was so great to hang out with her. Miss you friend! The Bailey's also came up from Maryland and it was so fun to have them around! I should've taken a picture with them but I really slacked on taking pictures!
Cute.
Owen and Rose loved to hold hands in the car. I'm pretty sure Rose was the initiator.
When we came home we found a frog on the driveway, which Mike proceeded to put on Rose. Not cool.
The Shamo's and I went to the beach one day. I had never been to a CT beach before. It was pretty cool and such a nice day!
Our friend Dan works for ESPN so he got me into a taping of a show that I like called Sports Nation. It was their 2 year anniversary show so it was a bigger deal than normal. It was like a thousand degrees outside but other than that it was pretty awesome!
In true Sports Nation fashion, there was a dunk tank involved. Colin answered some questions wrong and had to jump in. I was actually standing a foot from it so I got soaked! It felt great because it was so dang hot but unfortunately my camera got really wet and wouldn't work for a while. Luckily it came back to life! Thanks for the tickets Dan!
Rose and I got to spend the night at my dear friend Kara's house! Her dad cooked us a feast the night we got there and the next day we went swimming in her backyard. It was so great to spend time with her and her family. I love them!
We did lots of swimming.
This little pool was great because Rose could stand up in it. She loves the water.
Owen needed some shade so we tried gave him Rose's hat. I'm not sure that he liked it. Wyatt started swim lessons while we were visiting and I think it was like 100 degrees on the first day.
Janae and I taught Wyatt a handy little trick...how to give a baby a bottle. With the tv on he pretty much didn't pay any attention to her but as long as she was thirsty it was fine. That's gotta make Janae feel good about baby #3 coming soon!
Brooke and I went to the Brimfield Antique Show like we did last year. I really wanted this jack o lantern bucket thing but I couldn't justify trying to fit it in my suitcase.
Rose wanted a lick of this giant ice cream.
I also got to visit with my lovely Apple friends-Katelyn, Colleen, and Emma! Emma had her little guy Finn in June and I was really excited to see him. I was also really excited to hang out with Colleen's mom (a little joke that we have). She made us some awesome cupcakes and we of course ate the only thing that Colleen eats, pizza.
We went to visit at WNPR and Rose pretty much took over the place. She made lots of new friends!
She even took a shot at answer the phones. Photo by my great friend, Chion Wolf.
And then she tested out what it would feel like to sit at Dankosky's desk. I'd be willing to bet she'd make a great intern someday. Photo by Chion Wolf.
We ate our favorite Peruvian dish at our dear friends Carmen and Naysha's house. We sure miss them!
Rose loved meeting her new friend Sohpie B! I also loved spending time with Brooke.
Thanks to Janae and Rick for letting Rose and I stay at their house for so long! We had so much fun! Hope we didn't drive you crazy :)
I have so many blogs to catch up on before Saturday....Rose's 1st birthday!!!
