Rose's 1st Birthday!

Rose had a great 1st birthday! She started the day off with chocolate chip pancakes! Mike even let her have syrup...

Then while she napped, Mike and his mom and I got ready for the party! It was a dog themed party, because Rose is very into dogs. Here are our rice krispy dog bones.
The dog cake! I'm pretty proud of how it came out. I made the cake from scratch and Mike's mom made the frosting. It was a heavenly cake.

Rose officially took 3 baths on her birthday. I was happy that she was willing to share come kisses with me!

We cannot believe that a year has gone by. We've never laughed harder or smiled more since having Rose in our lives. The first couple of months of her life went so fast (although I might not have said that at the time in my half-wake state). It has been so fun getting to know her little personality. She is funny! I'm sure everyone says these kinds of things about their kids but she is really sweet too. She hugs all of her stuffed animals and is starting to give us more hugs. Sometimes if I am sitting on the ground with her, she will just come lay her head on my shoulder. I couldn't imagine a day without her and sometimes its almost hard to remember what it was like before she was around. As fall is coming back around we keep thinking about last fall, staying up late with Rose every night watching football or whatever was on tv. We love you little Rose. Thanks for living up to your name and making each day beautiful.
