4th of July!

We spent 4th of July with our cousins, the Brims, in Laclede, ID AKA paradise!  Mike's boss told everyone to take off an extra 2 days so we left Tuesday night and took the 5 hour drive to their lake house, about an hour past Spokane.  It was seriously Heaven!  We had such a great time hanging out with the Brim's and enjoying the sunshine.  We did not want to leave!  

On the morning of the 4th we hit up the Laclede pancake breakfast.  

Then of course there was a parade!  This is Rose freaking out about the sirens on the firetruck.

The Brims boat wasn't able to start so we went Kayaking a few times.  Remember the last time Rose wore that life jacket?

I took a few glorious naps in that hammock!

What is this thing in my eyes?  Oh right!  The sun.  I forgot about you there for a while.

On the night of the 4th, the neighbors on both sides were having some amazing firework shows!  Rose was begging to go to bed around 8ish so we put her down and she went to sleep.  As soon as the fireworks started going off, she woke up and said the words "no fireworks" for probably another 2 hours (and days) after that.  She was so scared!  We had a pretty awesome view of the show from one of the rooms in the house but Rose wouldn't take a step near the window.  I let her play with the iPad while the whole thing played out.  I (half jokingly/half seriously) thought that I was having sun stroke (thats what one day of sun can do to a Seattlite) so I laid down with Rose pretty early and we both fell asleep.  Whew!  What a night.

Their house is seriously one of the most amazing houses we've ever seen!  Here's a flashback to 5 years ago when they showed us the property.

We introduced the Brims to the amazingly awesome game of ladder ball.

Rose made friends with the neighbor dog which is funny because the Brims dog wanted nothing to do with her ha.

One day we headed into Sandpoint and had lunch and walked around.  I love that little town.  This is Rose enjoying my cup of ice at the beach.

Julia, Leslia, and Jinna.  I can't believe that we hadn't seen them in almost 5 years!  It was so great to hang with them again.  We missed Jac though!

On our last day there, some friends of the Brims brought their boat by and we got to take Rose out for a little spin, which she didn't like one bit, but it was fun.

We left Saturday afternoon and this happened about .2 seconds after we pulled away.

Also, random fun fact that we figured out while were there...this blog was born 5 years ago in May at the Brim's house!  Happy late birthday blog!
