Skagit Valley Tulip Festival

Last weekend we went up north to the Tulip Festival!  We are planning on taking a road trip this summer and so the 2 hour drive was a nice road test to see how Rose might handle it.  She did great!  Here we are at Tulip Town, one of the tulip fields.

 "Oooohh, flowers!"

Here we are on a tractor ride around the fields.  Mike couldn't believe that I didn't tell him that his hair looked that wind blown.  FYI, I did tell him, I guess I was just nicer than I should've been ;)
Who doesn't love a good barn picture?  I'm a sucker for barns (and Barnes).
There was a lot of people there so it was hard to get a picture of the whole field without tons of people in the way.  Here's an idea of all the beautiful colors though!

 I loved these multicolored ones.

These ones reminded me of fire!  I felt like they should have been in the Hunger Games books or something (nerd alert).  The pictures don't do them justice.

 "Say Elmo!"
I LOVE the way these ones came out.

We took 275 pictures!  I'm turning into my mom!
Annddddd the meltdown.  Rose was really good and is really easy to take places but it was the end of a long day and I couldn't resist capturing this moment.
It was definitely fun to do on a sunny day.  Its probably not an every year type adventure though.
